What is PTSD?

The Bald Eagle Ranch & Conference Center

Culpeper, Virginia

The 23 acre ranch is the center for workshops, group meetings, recreational activities, vocational training, and special events and activities.  The Conference Center will include the following:

  • The center provides the support foundation for ongoing services that the veteran has access to during their transition into civilian life.
A variety of conference rooms for workshops and conferences to include special break out rooms for small group meetings during the workshops.

  • Offices for board members and other affiliates who seek to utilize the property to help veterans as service officers of groups such as the VVA or DAV. These individuals may choose to set a time to meet with veterans, to take mortgage applications, to develop resumes, and work on job placement, conduct counseling sessions and help veterans with the application process for service connected disability status through interview, scoring scales and other instruments, and writing a lengthy, comprehensive reports for use with the VA and C & P examinations.

  • Recreational/skill development/leadership development facilities on the property including high and low ropes courses, an NRA approved range, two archery ranges, soccer field, working farm (with hay, chickens, garden, etc.).

  • Facilities for veterans to come together to plan ways to exhibit their talents and develop new purposes in life.  Veterans' families will be able to come to multi-family group activities, all of which will be monitored and scheduled.

  • The center provides the support foundation for ongoing services that the veteran has access to during their transition into civilian life.

One of the overriding reasons the facility will succeed is based on the overwhelming need of so many disabled veterans to come together and " do things " with other veterans, to have a purpose, to work with animals and the land and to participate in activities that support the healing and civilian transition process.
